WAXING
We offer waxing to women, men and children from the age of 10 years
Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for four to six weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being on a different human hair growth cycle.
Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, lip, face, pubic hair, legs, arms, underamrs, back, abdomen, fingers, hands, toes and feet.
Strip wax is used for the legs, arms, back and abdomen, as well as smaller areas such the fingers, toes, brows and lip. Strip waxing is accomplished by spreading a heated wax thinly over the skin.
A strip is applied and pressed firmly, adhering the strip to the wax and the wax to the hairs. The strip is then quickly ripped against the direction of hair growth. This removes the wax along with the hair.
Hard wax is used for the pubic area, underarms, face waxing, brows, lip and face.
This wax is applied thickly and does not require strips. The wax then hardens when it cools, thus allowing the easy removal. This waxing method is very beneficial to people who have sensitive skin.
Stripless wax does not adhere to the skin as much as strip wax does, thus making it a good option for sensitive skin as finer hairs are more easily removed because the hard wax encapsulates the hair as it hardens. The stripless waxing method can also be less painful.
Your hair needs to be on average 3mm and longer to be removed effectively. Waxing can be sensitive when the strip is removed from the skin, as the hair is pulled from the roots. The pain is not long-lasting. You could experience redness and red bumps after a wax, although this will subside within 24hrs.
This is more common on clients with thick hair. Please notify your therapist if you are prone to ingrown hairs so you can be advised on treatment. Please ensure your skin is free from oils and creams before your arrival. For pubic waxing, we request that you bring along fem wipes for hygiene purposes.
TINTING
Tinting is dying your brows to match your hair colour to enhance your brows, adding shape to the face. This is the ideal way to go from a blonde to a brunette without anyone knowing your secret. There is no need for pencilling in brows, which can fade or become patchy during the day.
Brows can last 2-4 weeks, depending on the selected shade.
Tinting the lashes brings out your eyes, giving the appearance of thicker, longer lashes and reducing the need for mascara. This is always a winning method for beach holidays.
Lash tinting can last up to 6 weeks.
Tinting is pain free. However if you have broken skin we advise against tinting the brows or if you have an eye infection, we advise against lash tinting. Tinting should be carried out 24-48hrs or earlier before an event so allow the colour to balance out.
